Tangy Pomegranate BBQ Sauce

Our Pomegranate Balsamic make this tangy & sweet sauce perfect for grilled chicken, burgers and tri-tip!


Ingredients

  • 1 Cup
    Ketchup
  • 1/2 Cup
    water
  • 1/2 Cup
    Sciabica's Pomegranate Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons
    light brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons
    honey
  • 1/2 Tablespoon
    fresh cracked black pepper
  • 3 Tablespoons
    OPTIONAL: Sciabica's Habanero Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium sauce pan, mix together Ketchup, water, Pomegranate Balsamic, brown sugar, honey and pepper.

  2. Bring to a boil on high heat then reduce to Low-Med heat allowing sauce to simmer and reduce, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes. Be sure to scrape the sides of the pan, returning any "blackened" sauce to the mix for deep flavor.

  3. OPTIONAL
    Spice it up! Add Sciabica's Habanero Extra Virgin Olive Oil to make the sauce Mild, Medium or Hot.
    Mild: Add 1/4 tablespoon
    Medium: add 1/2 tablespoon
    Hot: add 1 - 2 tablespoons

    This sauce is the bomb. I used it to make pulled pork sandwiches. They we’re a big hit. Didn’t add the habanero oil.
