Cilantro and Lime Olive Oil Tacos

Tacos are a favorite for many but often lack authentic flavor. Not to fret, these tortillas are as fresh as can be, just like Abuela would make. They feature our limited release Lime Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Top that off with Cilantro Extra Virgin Olive Oil marinated carne asada and a scratch-made salsa verde that will take your tastebuds on one epic trip south of the border!

Ingredients

  • Tortillas
    --- Hecha A Mano - Made by Hand
  • 2 Cups
    Yellow Masa Harina (Corn Flour)
  • ½ Tablespoons
    Salt
  • 1 ½ Cup
    Warm Water
  • 1 Tablespoon
    Sciabica’s Lime EVOO
  • Carne Asada
    --- Marinate
  • 1.5 Pounds
    Diced Beef
  • 1 Tablespoon
    Ground Cumin
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon
    Ground Black Pepper
  • 2
    Limes, Juiced
  • 1/4 Cup
    Sciabica’s Cilantro Olive Oil
  • Salsa Verde
    --- Scratch Made
  • 1 Pound
    Tomatillos, Rinsed
  • 1
    Poblano Pepper, De-Seeded, Chopped
  • 2
    2 Serrano Peppers, De-Seeded, Chopped
  • 4 Pieces
    Garlic
  • 1
    Lime, Juiced
  • 1
    Onion, Roughly chopped
  • 1/4 Cup
    Sciabica’s Cilantro Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Salt

Instructions

  1. Add all Carne Asada Ingredients to a bowl, mix throughly

  2. Let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes

  3. Rinse and chop all peppers and veggies for salsa, set aside

  4. In a medium bowl, combine all tortilla ingredients and knead until it holds together

  5. Cover in plastic wrap and let sit while you prepare the rest of your dish

  6. Carne Asada
    1. Pull marinated meat out of refrigerator and let rest for 10 minutes
    2. In a medium-high heat pan add, 1 tbsp of your favorite Sciabica’s Olive Oil
    3. Sear till meat is fully cooked

  7. Salsa Verde
    1. In a medium-high heat pan add, 1 tbsp of your favorite Sciabica’s Olive Oil
    2. Add Tomatillos and roast until lightly browned
    3. Add all other veggies and roast until onions are translucent
    4. Remove pan from heat and allow ingredients to cool slightly
    5. Blend in food processor until smooth

  8. Tortillas
    1. Roll golfball sized dough balls out of your mixture kneaded in previous steps
    2. Place ball into a tortilla press with wax paper on either side (You can use a rolling pin as well, just ensure you properly cover the dough with wax paper)
    3. Remove tortilla from wax paper
    4. Add 1 tbsp of your favorite Sciabica’s Olive Oil to a medium heat pan
    5. Place tortilla in pan and toast until golden on either side
