Banana Cake with Chocolate Streusel

This delectably sweet pastry can completely replace your normal coffee cake.




  • 2 Tablespoons
    Sciabica's Orange Olive Oil
  • 1/3 Cup
    Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 1 Cup
    Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 1/3 Cup
    Pecans (chopped fine)
  • 2 Teaspoons
  • 1 1/2 Cup
  • 1/2 Teaspoon
    Baking Soda
  • 3/4 Teaspoons
    Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon
    Sea Salt
  • 1/3 Cup
    Sciabica's Orange Olive Oil

    Bananas (mashed)
  • 1/4 Cup
    Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Vanilla Extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour an 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Stir chocolate chips, brown sugar, pecans, olive oil and cinnamon in a small bowl until well mixed, set streusel aside.

  2. In mixing bowl combine dry ingredients, make well in the center. Pour in greek yogurt, olive oil, banana, egg, and flavoring, stir until just blended.

  3. Spread half of batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle with ½ of streusel.

  4. Repeat with remaining batter and streusel.

  5. Bake cake about 45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean from center.

  6. Cool cake in pan on rack.
